Duck Duck Gray Duck "Duck Duck Grey Duck is as home with an up-tempo tune as with a ballad." That's what is says on the back anyway. No record in your collection will sound like this, unless you have a copy of the 'Grease' soundtrack and then still, John Travolta would have to be even more sleazy and have a fondness for LSD. No harm in breaking this one out for a dinner party. |
|
|
Impractical Cockpit*Nuclear Family One band from Minneapolis and one band from Gainesville come together to create this low-fi noisy shouty punk record. Pre Load Records sounding music. As raw as it gets. Hand-made LP covers gave this album that personal touch. |

Pine Hill Haints
"The Pine Hill Haints new release, Ghost Dance, takes its name from the late 19th century Native American movement.
In many ways the movement died in flesh in the 1890’s, but spiritual the cry has gathered steam.
The society we have given ourselves shines bright, glaring from the green corporate star, taking us away from the land,
away from our spiritual self, and into the great binary plastic system. The Pine Hill Haints long for a day when this
wasn’t the case, and so, attempt to channel and haunt us with the memory of who we once were.

The Can Kickers 13 tracks of raw sped up old-timey, American folk. If a bunch of punks lived in a wooden shack in the Appalachian mountains with nothing but musical instruments, beans, and beer, this is what it would sound like. Dancing required. |
|
|
The Can Kickers The 4th album from these New London old-timey freaks. More rocking tunes that raise crusties from the gutter and grannies from their knitting. If you like the other albums, you'll like this one too. |

The Ghastly Grimey Orchestra The Ghastly Grimey Orchestra was drawn together in the hot summer of New Orleans in 2002. Inspired by Edward Gorey's illustrated alphabeth, "The Gashlycrumb Tinies," the orchestra composed 26 songs. From elevator shafts, to haunted warehouses, to the living rooms of shotgun houses, the orchestra played. On theramins and chattering teeth, accordians and busted children's toys, the orchestra played. Time flies as it does and the years swallowed up master tapes and memories and time, mostly time...but finally now, we present this long awaited cd. Featuring musicians from Impractical Cockpit, Uke Phillips, Oak, and Boneyard Witch. | |
|
Uke Of Phillips Dan Beckman of "Impractical Cockpit" writes songs that have a nostalgic, 'gutter country' feel. Minneapolis meets New Orleans in this very mellow and 'experimental' album. A must for fans of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and lo-fi folk. |

I Wish There Was Something I Could Quit Second novel by legendary zine-writer Aaron Cometbus. "Laura is in the middle of a torrid affair -- with the trains that pass on the tracks at the end of her block. She is obsessed. She can't sleep. She sits on the porch all night lying in wait. Then she throws bricks, bowling balls, cans of paint. She loves the sound as they connect, meeting metal and glass. Smash goes the windshield of the camouflage Humvee. Crash go the headlights of a helicopter. The trains are carrying weapons destined for the front lines of America's latest war, and Laura can't rest until she's consummated the affair by blowing one up! She plots, she plans -- but meanwhile, the trains keep right on coming, haunting her. Taunting her, too. All her good intentions haven't done anything to stop them or even slow one down -- yet." -Last Gasp |
